In Jerusalem, Israel's Prime Minister Ariel Sharon wins his cabinet's endorsement in principle of a plan to withdraw Israeli settlements and troops from the Gaza Strip. The weakened version of Sharon's plan that was passed resulted from compromises within Sharon's party that allow for future votes on dismantling settlements. NPR's Julie McCarthy reports.
