Southern Writer Brown Dead at 53
Author Larry Brown dies of a heart attack at 53. He often wrote about the rough, gritty lives of rural southerners. He won the Southern Book Critics Circle Award twice. Brown's novels include Big Bad Love and Joe. NPR's Steve Inskeep reports.
