Archibald says she strives to create arrangements that are surprising and unique. "Since everyone knows these tunes so well, I feel that it's up to me to do something different with them."
Archibald has a Masters Degree in Piano Performance from California State University, Long Beach. Her first composition, "Searching," was written in 1997 as a gift for her mother, and ultimately became the title track of Archibald's debut CD. That album was nominated for "Best Instrumental Album" by Just Plain Folks, an international, independent music organization. The group named Archibald's second CD, The Long Ride Home, "Best Solo Instrumental Album" at their Music Awards, held in Hollywood, CA in March 2003. In granting the award, Just Plain Folks founder Brian Austin Whitney said, "I am not sure if the local music community yet realizes what a jewel in Becky they have in their midst."
Archibald has three CDs of original compositions: Searching, The Long Ride Home and The Light at the End of the Blues. She's scheduled to give a solo performance at Carnegie Hall in May of 2006.
