The battle over the role of gays and lesbians in society may be moving from marriage to the homefront as a number of states are gearing up to oppose gay adoption. The latest is Ohio, where a measure to ban adoption by gay men and lesbians was introduced in the state legislature last month. Some 16 states -- including Alabama, Alaska, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Oregon -- are taking steps to end gay adoptions.
