Preview: Iraqi Official Reacts to U.S. Election
ALEX CHADWICK, host:
Tomorrow on DAY TO DAY we have an interview with Hadi al-Amiri. He's a member of Iraq's parliament and head of a big militia group that's blamed for many killings. And we asked his reaction to the political changes in the U.S. Here's a little preview of that interview with Mr. Amiri speaking through an interpreter.
CHADWICK: There is a new congress coming in. You are a member of the Iraqi parliament Mr. Amiri; do you have a message for the new Congress that's taking power now in the American government?
Mr. HADI AL-AMIRI (Member of Iraqi Parliament) (through interpreter): I hope they are successful in their mission. And I request them to support the political procedure to get rid from the (unintelligible) and the Iraqi people to shed the support from the American people and the Congress from their support forget to get rid of the old regime of Saddam and I assure you that the Iraqi people they are taking the battle with the terrorist instead of the whole war. Every terrorist has become victorious. It will be a failure to the whole world.
