Singer-songwriter Salvador Ali

Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, Ali "Gorji" Fard fuels the pop/folk musical project Salvador Ali. Fard combined his post-punk, 60s pop, electronic and folk music influences to put together Artificial Heart, Salvador Ali's newest album. He says the album sprung from an "intense period of self-reflection."

Fard plays guitars, Iranian setar, analog keyboard and does what he calls "some fairly shoddy drum programming." He has been an avid musician since his teenage years, and says he records music because he has to.
