U.S. Wrestlers Visiting Iran
RENEE MONTAGNE, host:
Good morning, I'm Renee Montagne with wrestling diplomacy. No, not an oxymoron. U.S. wrestlers competing in Iran this week were welcomed with bouquets of flowers. It's the first time American wrestlers have competed since President Ahmadinejad took over. His predecessor encouraged sports exchanges to bring the U.S. and Iran closer. What a difference a few years makes. Now another American visitor is headed to that country - the USS Stennis aircraft carrier.
It's MORNING EDITION.
