Tip for Thieves: Lay Off the GPS Devices

Good morning. I'm Steve Inskeep.
Thoughtful burglars might have seen this coming. Three men allegedly robbed a public works garage in New York's Long Island. They stole GPS satellite navigation devices. They're used to track the movements of snowplows or street sweepers. You can see this, can't you? When the device has turned up missing, police conducted a simple investigation by logging on to the GPS system. They traced one unit right back to the home of a suspect who was found in possession of it.
