Former U.S. Sens. Alan Simpson (R-WY) and Bob Kerrey (D-NE) offer their perspectives on the growing pool of presidential candidates.
On the Republican side the big names include: Sen. John McCain of Arizona, former New York Mayor Rudolph Giuliani, Sen. Sam Brownback of Kansas, Sen. Chuck Hagel of Nebraska and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney. And their could be more, including former House Speaker Newt Gingrich.
Democratic hopefuls are no less abundant, with Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York, former Sen. John Edwards of North Carolina, Sen. Christopher Dodd of Connecticut, Sen. Joe Biden of Delaware, Gov. Bill Richardson of New Mexico and Tom Vilsack of Iowa all lining up for a run at the White House.
