The Japanese company Toshiba says it is finalizing deals with two U.S. energy companies to build four new nuclear power reactors worth about $14 billion. According to reports, two of the reactors could be in Georgia, the other two in South Carolina.

The energy companies are actually working with Westinghouse to build the plants. Toshiba bought Westinghouse two years ago, which some call a wise move now. Demand for nuclear power is growing, as rising oil prices create new desire for locally produced energy.
