First as half of the folk-pop duo The Story and later as a solo artist, singer/songwriter Jonatha Brooke has spent nearly two decades incorporating folk, pop and rock into her passionate and heartfelt songs. Brooke performed a concert from WXPN and World Cafe Live in Philadelphia on Apr. 6.
While attending Amherst College in Boston, Brooke joined up with fellow freshman Jennifer Kimball to form The Story, which released its debut (Grace in Gravity) in 1991. Following 1993's The Angel in the House, Kimball and Brooke parted ways, with Brooke pursuing a solo career that saw her release a string of widely praised albums. The forthcoming Careful What You Wish For is her first studio album since 2004's Back in the Circus.
