Illinois' defiant Governor Rod Blagojevich is fighting back against the state lawmakers who impeached him.

The Illinois House voted almost unanimously Friday to impeach the Democratic governor, who was arrested last month and charged with various "pay-to-pay" political corruption schemes.

In one charge, prosecutors say Blagojevich was looking for payoffs in exchange for the appointment to the U.S. Senate seat vacated by President-elect Barack Obama.

Blagojevich insists he is innocent.
