STEVE INSKEEP, host:
Good morning. I'm Steve Inskeep.
The world's biggest retailer will help you say farewell to a loved one for a low, low price. Wal-Mart is selling caskets on its Web site. It's undercutting the prices charged by funeral homes. Federal law requires the funeral home to use third-party caskets if they're sent over. For $999, you too can buy a casket called Dad Remembered or Mom Remembered. A little more money brings you caskets called Executive Privilege.
It's MORNING EDITION.
