MONTAGNE: The company that makes BlackBerry mobile phones and Internet devices reported a big jump in profits yesterday.
The Canadian firm Research in Motion said it shipped out about 10 million of the devices in the last quarter. The numbers indicate that BlackBerries are holding their own in the face of growing competition from the likes of Apple, that is Apple's iPhone and Motorola's Droid smartphone.
