Sharon-Abbas Talks Conclude Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon announces a series of goodwill gestures toward the Palestinians at the conclusion of meetings with Palestinian Prime Minister Mahmoud Abbas. Israel offers to ease conditions for Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza Strip if the Palestinians crack down on militant groups.
