Our last word in business today is tap, tap profits.
The entertainment giant Disney has been dipping its toes into the world of small-screen gaming. Yesterday, the company said it purchased a Silicon Valley company called Tapulous. Tapulous makes games for Apple's mobile devices. It's known for its "Tap Tap Revenge" games.
(Soundbite of song, "Tap, Tap Domination")
Unidentified Man: (Singing) I want the high scores, the high scores. I want the high score. I want the high score.
KELLY: The game is free, or special versions cost a few bucks. Players also pay a dollar or two more for extra song bundles. Doesn't sound like much, but 35 million people have downloaded "Tap Tap" games, so all those tiny payments could amount to big money.
That's the business news on MORNING EDITION, from NPR News. I'm Mary Louise Kelly.
