ROBERT SIEGEL, host:
So, good news for GM, but some bad news today for Toyota. It agreed to recall another 2.2 million vehicles in the U.S. The company wants to make sure its floor mats aren't interfering with the gas pedal. The announcement comes with a silver lining for the automaker. The agreement brings to a close the government's long-running investigation of safety issues at Toyota.
MICHELE NORRIS, host:
A rash of accidents involving runaway cars, including one that left four people dead led to speculation that unintended acceleration had been caused by software issues or faulty electronics.
