Frito-Lay unveiled a new, environmentally friendly bag for its Sun Chips brand last April. The 100 percent compostable bags burst onto the scene loudly too loudly, in fact.

INSKEEP: The noisy bags registered at up to 85 decibels. And PepsiCo, which owns Frito-Lay, pulled the product from store shelves. Now, Sun Chips has redesigned a less noisy bag.

INSKEEP: The company says the newer bags have lower volumes on par with other chip bags. Engineers came up with a rubbery adhesive to dampen the noise. Sounds tasty. Hope it works. If not, they'll surely be hearing about it.
