Israeli Parliament Debates Sharon's Withdrawal Plan The Israeli parliament begins a two-day debate on Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's plan to withdraw Israeli troops and settlers from the Gaza Strip. Many in Sharon's own Likud Party oppose the plan. Thousands of protesters are converging on the parliament building in Jerusalem. A vote on the withdrawal plan is set for late Tuesday.
