OPHIRA EISENBERG, HOST:

It's time to play a game with our very important puzzler, so let's bring back Uzo Aduba.

(APPLAUSE)

EISENBERG: Welcome back.

UZO ADUBA: Hi.

EISENBERG: Uzo, you brought your own opponent.

U. ADUBA: I did, indeed.

EISENBERG: OK (laughter).

U. ADUBA: (Laughter) I did, inded.

EISENBERG: Who did you bring?

U. ADUBA: My sister, Chi-Chi.

EISENBERG: Oh.

(APPLAUSE)

EISENBERG: Are you opponents right now or are you sisters?

U. ADUBA: Opponents.

CHI-CHI ADUBA: Opponents.

EISENBERG: Got it.

(LAUGHTER)

EISENBERG: Now, she referred to you as Chi-Chi. Is that a preferred nickname?

C. ADUBA: Yes, you can call me Chi-Chi (laughter).

EISENBERG: But your full name is Chioma?

C. ADUBA: Chioma, yep.

EISENBERG: That's beautiful. I love Chioma.

C. ADUBA: Thank you, got it for my birthday.

EISENBERG: You got for your birthday?

(LAUGHTER)

EISENBERG: And, growing up, were you guys competitive with each other or, 'cause you're close in age, were you always playing together because there was other kids around so that, therefore, you have the most in common?

U. ADUBA: Well, we definitely played together. Like, this has been my longest-running teammate in my life period, like, absolutely. We've been roommates since we were kids. We were roommates when we lived in New York and my very best friend.

EISENBERG: Aw.

(APPLAUSE)

EISENBERG: Chi-Chi, your response.

(LAUGHTER)

EISENBERG: So, Uzo, when we asked you if you had a - have a specific area of expertise that you would like to do a game about, you told us, I do indeed, TV theme songs from the late-'80s.

(APPLAUSE)

C. ADUBA: Well, I'm glad they asked you.

U. ADUBA: Yes. I'm hoping I do not regret that choice (laughter).

EISENBERG: Chi-Chi, did you watch a lot of late-'80s television, as well?

C. ADUBA: I did not.

EISENBERG: OK, all right. So it's a totally fair competition.

JONATHAN COULTON, BYLINE: Wait a minute, it doesn't seem fair at all. Well, we're going to tap into one of your expertises by reciting the lyrics from some favorite TV show themes. And the winner will get to watch TV after dinner, also an ASK ME ANOTHER prize.

EISENBERG: Here we go. Identify this television show from these song lyrics. There's a time for love, a time for living...

C. ADUBA: My thing's not working.

(LAUGHTER)

C. ADUBA: (Imitating bell).

EISENBERG: You have to wait 'til the end.

C. ADUBA: I got it, I got it, I got it.

U. ADUBA: You have to wait 'til the end, Chich (ph). You have to wait 'til the end.

C. ADUBA: Don't even - I beeped first.

(LAUGHTER)

EISENBERG: I'm going to let you answer off of the first line. Go ahead, Uzo, what is it?

U. ADUBA: Me?

C. ADUBA: No!

U. ADUBA: "Who's The Boss?"

C. ADUBA: No!

(APPLAUSE)

COULTON: Wow.

C. ADUBA: I didn't realize, OK. I'm really excited to have the...

EISENBERG: "Who's The Boss?" is correct.

COULTON: Sometimes the audience likes to know what the whole question is.

C. ADUBA: Sorry (laughter).

COULTON: They like to hear it all 'cause they don't know if from just the first couple words. Here we go. When I wake up in the morning...

(LAUGHTER)

U. ADUBA: We just asked for clarification.

COULTON: Now, in track and field, we would call that a false start.

C. ADUBA: A false start, thank you.

COULTON: All right?

U. ADUBA: All right, fine.

COULTON: Take your marks.

C. ADUBA: We're so into this.

COULTON: When I wake up in the morning and the alarm gives out a warning, I don't think I'll ever make it on time. By the time I grab my books and I give myself a look, I'm at the corner just in time to see the bus fly by. It's all right 'cause I'm...

U. ADUBA: Come on. It froze.

(SOUNDBITE OF BELL)

U. ADUBA: No!

C. ADUBA: Is it me?

COULTON: That's Chioma.

C. ADUBA: "Saved By The Bell."

COULTON: Yeah.

(APPLAUSE)

COULTON: You guys are, like, blowing out the buzzer system.

(LAUGHTER)

EISENBERG: They did. They froze the buzzer system, like, nine times.

COULTON: They froze...

(LAUGHTER)

EISENBERG: Show me that smile again...

U. ADUBA: Oh!

(LAUGHTER)

EISENBERG: Don't waste another minute on your crying, we're nowhere near the end. The best is ready to begin.

COULTON: As long as we got each other. We got the world's spinning right in our hands, baby, you and me. We got to be the luckiest dreamers who never quit dreaming.

(SOUNDBITE OF BELL)

EISENBERG: Uzo.

U. ADUBA: Yes!

C. ADUBA: What!

U. ADUBA: "Growing Pains."

EISENBERG: Yes.

(APPLAUSE)

COULTON: You guys are both, like, buzzing, buzzing, buzzing, buzzing, buzzing, and then we say who it is and the other person's like, what?

(LAUGHTER)

COULTON: Here's your last clue, complete these lyrics. I know my parents love me...

U. ADUBA: Oh.

COULTON: ...Stand behind me, come what may. I know now that I'm ready because I finally heard them say it's a...

C. ADUBA: I don't know.

U. ADUBA: Wait, wait, I know it...

COULTON: It's the title of the show.

U. ADUBA: Oh! Oh! Oh! I know, wait!

(SOUNDBITE OF BELL)

C. ADUBA: Is it me?

COULTON: That's Chioma.

C. ADUBA: It's, like, an old man singing in a cranky voice.

(LAUGHTER)

C. ADUBA: Oh God, I know this. And this is a winner, isn't it?

EISENBERG: Do you want to give a hint?

U. ADUBA: No.

COULTON: Lisa Bonet was the star of this show.

EISENBERG: Chi-Chi.

C. ADUBA: Oh! Oh! "A Different World."

EISENBERG: There you go.

(APPLAUSE)

EISENBERG: Puzzle guru Art Chung, what happened between our VIP and her sister?

ART CHUNG, BYLINE: I'm almost afraid to say it's a tie.

EISENBERG: Whoa.

(APPLAUSE)

CHUNG: I'm not going to have to say what I usually say, which is hands on your buzzers.

(LAUGHTER)

CHUNG: They're there. Here's the question. Joe Cocker's cover of The Beatles hit, "With A Little Help From My Friends..."

U. ADUBA: Oh! Oh! Oh! Oh! Oh! Here! Here! Here! Here!

C. ADUBA: I got it!

U. ADUBA: Present! Here!

CHUNG: Uzo?

C. ADUBA: No!

U. ADUBA: Yes!

(SOUNDBITE OF BELL)

U. ADUBA: Ding! One ding (laughter).

(APPLAUSE)

U. ADUBA: What is "The Wonder Years?"

CHUNG: That is correct.

(APPLAUSE)

CHUNG: Oh, man.

EISENBERG: I felt like I was in an '80s sitcom, this...

(LAUGHTER)

EISENBERG: All right, congratulations.

(APPLAUSE)
