MELISSA BLOCK, host:
Well Man Man may be playing all over the country, but it will not be performing in New Orleans this weekend. What is in New Orleans? The Jazz and Heritage Festival.
ROBERT SIEGEL, host:
Some big names are performing in the festival's closing weekend, most notably, Stevie Wonder. It's his first appearance at Jazzfest in more than 30 years. And this Sunday night marks the first time since hurricane Katrina that the Neville Brothers will be performing at Jazzfest, they'll close the event.
(Soundbite of song)
Mr. AARON NEVILLE (Vocals, Neville Brothers): (Singing) If you want something to play with, go and find yourself a toy.
BLOCK: For a decade before the storm, the wrap-up performance by one of New Orleans famous families was a Jazzfest tradition. But Katrina battered the musician's homes and scattered the band. Some of the Orleaneans viewed the Neville brothers' absence from the festival as a deliberate slight.
SIEGEL: Well, all that seems to be in the past, now, for New Orleans and the Neville brothers. On Wednesday, they were given a key to the city and declared, A Jewel of New Orleans.
(Soundbite of song)
Mr. NEVILLE: (Singing) I got to go now, go now, go now, go now, go now. Why oh, why oh, why oh, why. Now you know, you know, you know I love you.
