STEVE INSKEEP, host:
Good morning, I'm Steve Inskeep. A gigantic lobster was saved by its own appeal. It was brought ashore in Canada weighing 22 pounds. It is believed to be 100 years old, and a bidding war broke out. One group wanted to serve the lobster at a banquet and offered $5,000. Then the fish store owner got to thinking about that crustacean in his tank. Denis Breau decided to donate the lobster. It should now live in peace at a marine science center. You're listening to MORNING EDITION.
